Full Time Position

Gabriel Building Supply is a full service lumberyard/home center that has been locally owned and family operated for over 80 years. Nothing
short of perfection is accepted when it comes to customer service and providing value to our customers. The main responsibility of this position is assisting customers with any needs including but not limited to: answering phone calls, accepting orders and scheduling deliveries, assisting customers in-store, estimating blue-prints ranging in size from a small project to a complete new construction home, and active pursuit of new business through cold-calling and networking. Prior sales experience is required, and knowledge of the construction industry is a plus.

We are looking for a full time, result-driven retail Sales Associate to be responsible for all sales job duties, from generating leads to closing sales.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
  • Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
  • Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
  • Actively seek out customers in store
  • Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
  • Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  • Cross sell products
  • Handle returns of merchandise
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  • Build productive trust relationships with customers
  • Use blueprints to assist in ordering materials for construction projects

Skills Required:

  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficiency in English
  • Basic Math skills
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner

This is a 5 day/45 hour workweek, including Saturdays. Benefits are available after completion of 90 day probationary period. Hourly rate will be determined depending on experience. Pre-employment drug testing will be required, as well as random sample throughout employment. Additional basic skills testing may be required, will be administered internally.

Warehouse Associate

Full Time Position

Gabriel Building Supply is a full service lumberyard/home center that has been locally owned and family operated for over 80 years. Nothing short of perfection is accepted when it comes to customer service and providing value to our customers.

The main responsibility of this position is assisting customers with loading their purchases, and unloading and stocking merchandise when delivered to the yard. 

The job duties consist of but are not limited to:

  • Assisting customers by loading materials efficiently, accurately and safely
  • Verifying, unloading and stocking materials as they are delivered to the yard
  • Pulling and loading material for deliveries
  • General housekeeping of the warehouse to maintain a safe work environment

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

The ideal applicant is hard-working, trustworthy, self-motivated and a team player. 

Job Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age 
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to  perform job functions
  • Ability to operate store equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks, forklift training/certification will be provided
  • Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise
  • Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties
