Our History
Founded in 1926 by Harry Joseph Gabriel Sr., Gabriel Building Supply Company initially operated as a lumber and millwork supplier. Under the watch of Harry Joseph Gabriel Jr., the company evolved into a full service building supply. Once Harry Jr.’s sons, Harry James Gabriel and Robert "Bob" Gabriel, joined the family business, Gabriel Building Supply flourished. In 1992 the company expanded again to its current West Pine Street location, establishing itself as the premier destination for construction materials in Tangipahoa Parish.

2013
In 2013, Gabriel Building Supply expanded further by opening a second location in Amite. This second location allowed us to better serve the northern end of Tangipahoa and nearby parishes. Our Amite store features the same comprehensive services found in Ponchatoula, including a full-service lumberyard, hardware, plumbing, and other departments.

Gabriel Building Supply is now under the ownership of Bob Gabriel and his daughters, Jasmin and Devin, who represent the fourth generation of our family-owned company.
